What I enjoy about tutoring
Building my student’s confidence and helping them reach full academic potential is extremely rewarding. Also, it forces me to communicate difficult topics in a simple and coherent manner, which means I'm also constantly learning alongside my students.
Strategy to help a struggling student
I try and use as many visuals as possible in my lessons; especially in economics, a diagram is definitely worth a thousand words!
Interests
I love photography (mainly film but I’m trying to get to grips with digital), surfing, fishing, football and boxing.
Favourite superpower
To turn back time.
What I enjoy about tutoring
Since I enjoyed explaining things, I tried tutoring and haven’t looked back. I really enjoy explaining a concept and seeing the student understand it for the first time.
Strategy to help a struggling student
I like to ask questions. If the student can’t answer, then I’ll ask a more fundamental one. Eventually, we will reach common ground.
Interests
Music, politics and badminton. However, I spend most of my time working on my PhD.
Favourite superpower
The ability to use all the peanut butter in the tub.
What I enjoy about tutoring
Exploring questions with students, putting our pens down and diving deep into science. Strategy to help a struggling student
Breaking down questions and coming up with analogies to represent difficult concepts are my first choice when helping a struggling student.
Interests
I am very interested in the engineering work related to space exploration, which links to my love for Star Wars and Star Trek!
Favourite superpower
Telekinesis, no doubt.
